Germany Tour 2010

May 2010

The Choir's trip to Germany in the footsteps of Bach was a great success and we travelled to Leipzig, Dresden, Eisenach, Mühlhausen and Arnstadt in four days. Read our trip diary

We sang in Dresden and Eisenach at famous and historic churches, many of which are linked to JS Bach, including the Frauenkirche and the Georgenkirche.

Venice Tour May 2008

Grand Canal from Accademia Bridge
Conducted by Ian Le Grice and accompanied at very short notice by Martin Ford, thirty members of the choir took part in a packed programme of concerts and sight-seeing. Our programme included works by composers including Byrd, Tallis Monteverdi and Viadana, which we sang at concerts in Chiesa di San Pietro di Castello, SS Giovanni & Paolo, and St George’s Anglican Church. We were also able to particpate in a Mass in St. Marks Basilica. Audiences, including the congregation at St Marks, gave us an excellent welcome.

Tour 2006

Minsk, Belarus: 31st May – 4 June 2006

About half the choir, together with our conductor, Sue, and accompanist, Ian, travelled to Minsk at the invitation of the UK Ambassador, a former member of the choir. We offered four concerts in a range of different venues as well as enjoying a crowded programme of sightseeing. Because Belarus has few amateur choirs of its own and few tourists, we were given an outstanding welcome.
