Joyful Spanish music

Covering four centuries, we performed sacred music and carols from Spain and the Basque region via Portugal to Mexico.

16th century sacred gems by Victoria (Missa Ave Regina, Salve Regina à 8, O magnum mysterium and Sancta Maria succure miseris)
Nigra sum and Salve Montserratina by 20th century Spanish composer Pablo Casals
Basque composer Vincente Goicoechea's Ave Maria
Guerrero's Canite tuba in Sion
Carols from Mexico (El Rorro), Portugal (Sa qui turo zente pleta) and the Basque region (Sing Lullaby)

All accompanied by Pipework Brass Ensemble and Ian le Grice (organ), it was a fine evening of music from Spain and the New World.
